APRIL 2008 - WE ARE VERY EXCITED!
This week we are launching our new range of labels and we hope that you will like them as much as we do. We have felt for some time that we need to be able to differentiate the granolas and have gone for colour coding. We are keeping the transparent bags as we want our customers to be able to see our products for what they are - wholesome, honest and delicious breakfast experiences.
JANUARY 2008 - THE BIRDS ARE COMING!
This year we are hoping to replenish our old orchard with some new trees and, as part of the research, we asked a 'Bird Man' to come and have a look at the land. He identified lots of species feeding and visiting us - Fieldfares (pictured right), Redwings, Pied Wagtails, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Green Woodpecker.......... the list goes on! We are thrilled and intend to encourage lots more birds by a sympathetic approach to any improvements we make in the future.
GOOD THINGS COME IN LITTLE PACKAGES!
We are delighted to tell you that we have an addition to our existing range – a simply scrumptious Trail Mix!
It's the sort of snack you can take with you any time - for lunch, to renew flagging energy levels, out on
your bike or if you like less stressful pastimes, then munch it in front of the television!
Packed in 100g bags, this product has a RRP £1.49.
The mix contains our almond granola, jumbo raisins, pumpkin seeds, baby figs and cranberries
– all those delicious ingredients that are in our breakfast cereals. Yummy!
JANUARY 22nd 2008 - FARMHOUSE BREAKFAST WEEK - A GREAT START
As part of the above initiative, this morning we visited Ann Edwards Primary School in South Cerney, where we are based. We talked to all of the Key Stage 2 children (around 180) about the benefits of starting the day with a healthy, balanced breakfast. We took in samples for all the children to try and we very pleased with the reception we got.
If we have converted some of the children to the delights of a nutritious, delicious start to the day, then we will have done a good job!
9th and 10th October 2007 - RHS LONDON FLOWER SHOW
We had a stand at the RHS Autumn Show last week and had a great time. We met lots of new customers and converted most of them to the delights of our delicious cereals! It was good to be there with other local producers - many of whom go to the farmers markets that we sell at.
We were delighted to talk to an apple expert who identified 5 of the varieties growing in our orchard! We have Newton Wonder, Warner's King, Bramley, King of the Pippins and Lord Derby. We also have a variety of Cider Apples - so maybe next year we'll be producing our own scrumpy!
December 2007 - THE COUNTRY MONKEY IN PRINT!
We had a brilliant article in the latest edition of 'foodie' magazine. There's some great photos and we feel that the piece really sums up what The Country Monkey is all about. Click on the link here to have a look for yourself.
October 2007 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!
We have just celebrated our 2nd birthday - so a very big thank you to all of our customers for helping us to make a real success of The Country Monkey. Here's to the next year - with your continued support we will carry on feeding the inner monkey!
